Course Overview
The CQHE Level 5 Diploma in Psychology award aims to give learners a specialised plan of study that provides a depth of knowledge and comprehension of major aspects of the discipline of psychology. The Level 5 lessons allow students to specialise and advance in a range of important topic areas, with a focus of understanding the current practice of psychology. Learners will improve their skills in the following areas: mental health and psychopathology, cognitive psychology, visual perception, the diversity of addiction, social psychology with a focus on pro and anti-social behaviour, individual differences in criminology, intelligence, and personality, as well as become aware of current debates and issues in the field of psychology. This programme consists of six mandatory units covering a range of topics with a total of 120 credits for the entire programme.
Entry Requirements:
- Relevant CQHE Level 4 Diploma or equal qualification.
or
- GCE Advanced Level three passes or equal certification.
or
- Mature students (over 21) having relevant executive level experience.
- English language competency
Progression Pathway:
Successful completion of the CQHE Level 5 Diploma in Psychology leads learners to pursue a variety of academic opportunities or directly into employment in a wide range of careers, such as: career counselling, education counselling, health professions, human resources management and social services.
