Course Overview

The CQHE Level 4 Diploma in Networking and Cyber Security is designed to provide learners with a comprehensive foundation in the principles, technologies, and practices of modern information and network security. The qualification focuses on developing the technical and analytical skills needed to identify, manage, and mitigate security risks in digital and physical networked environments. Entry Requirements:

The CQHE Level 4 Diploma in Networking and Cyber Security is designed for learners who are seeking to develop technical and analytical skills in the field of cybersecurity, networking, and information technology.

To enrol in this qualification, learners should meet one of the following criteria:

Academic Requirements

  • A recognised Level 3 qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or
  • GCE Advanced Level (A/L) or equivalent international secondary education qualification; or
  • Completion of a recognised foundation or access programme in computing or technology.

Mature Entry Route

Learners aged 21 years or above who do not meet the standard entry criteria may be considered through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or work experience route, provided they can demonstrate relevant professional or technical experience in IT, networking, or a related discipline.

English Language Proficiency
As the medium of instruction and assessment is English, learners must demonstrate proficiency in English through one of the following:

  • An English qualification such as IELTS 5.5 or equivalentor
  • Successful completion of previous education in English, or
  • An internal English proficiency test conducted by the approved CQHE centre.

Progression Pathway:

Learners who complete the CQHE Level 4 Diploma in Networking and Cyber Security (120 credits) can advance to Level 5 qualifications in related areas such as Networking, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or Computing. They may also gain Year 2 entry into UK Bachelor’s Degree programmes including BSc (Hons) Cyber Security, Computer Networks and Security, Information Technology, or Computer Science.

This qualification also opens pathways to junior roles in IT and security sectors, such as Network Support Technician, Trainee Cyber Security Analyst, IT Helpdesk Officer, Systems Administrator, SOC Assistant, or Network Installer. Graduates gain practical skills in network configuration, data protection, vulnerability assessment, and cyber-incident support.
